So tonight when I was visiting my cousin Michelle, we were talking. We dreamed ever since we were little girls of growing older and having children together. Michelle got busy on this much sooner than I did, but now we have 8 children between the two of us.
As we were chatting, her children and mine were playing/screaming in the background. We were talking about how we met our husbands. Of course we already knew these stories since we lived them with each other, but still. We were talking about our marriages and our children. My cousin said, “This is our happily ever after!”
I said, “Yeah, it is nice, but I just thought it might be a little more quiet.”
On my 45 minute drive home I thought more about this. Even though Madeline was screaming for most of the trip (she hates the car), I looked back at Annie and Kimmie and over at Bill and thought, “This is my happily ever after!” I would not change one single bit of it. Well, maybe the screaming in the car, that can get pretty unnerving. Otherwise, it is great! I have enjoyed the time spent so far. I cannot wait to see my children grow and make memories with them. I am excited for all that the future holds. My happily ever after is going well so far. Happily awaiting the future!
