« Previous EntriesAnnie is Two
Saturday, October 29th, 2005Annie turned two today. Her Grandma and Grandpa Brown came over in the morning and spent a few hours playing with her. She loves it when the grandparents come over because they’ll push her and her sister on the swing as long as they want. They also brought over a couple more presents including what [...]
Garage Sale Steal!
Saturday, October 29th, 2005Yesterday as I was driving home I saw sone yellow signs for a garage sale. I went ahead and drove by it. I saw a Little Tikes cube toy that I thought I would ask the price of. I was sure it would be more than I had with me. [...]
Grandpa Gatti this one is for you!
Friday, October 28th, 2005Annie is finallly a full fledged Italian! Last night she was slurping her spaghetti She did it like a pro!
Well checks all around!
Thursday, October 27th, 2005Today we took all three girls for their well checks.
Two 2 year old checks and one 6 month old check.
Maddie is quite the chub!!! She is now up to 17 pounds and 8 ounces. Just for good measure I will let you know that Annie and Kimberly were right around 17 pounds at [...]
Need input about Stay at Home Moms
Tuesday, October 25th, 2005I need feedback regarding this issue. I believe that people honor Stay at Home Moms. I believe that the very essence of our country was founded on women who stayed home to rear their children. I believe that being a Stay at Home Mom has just as much value, actually more, [...]
Babies, babies everywhere!
Monday, October 24th, 2005Kimberly and Annie recieved babies twins for their birthday. They are so cute with them. They have been pushing them around in the strollers they received, feeding them bottles, cuddling them, and sleeping with them last night. The cutest thing ever was last night when Annie was feeding her baby a bottle. [...]
Second Birthday Party
Sunday, October 23rd, 2005We had The Girls second birthday party today and it went very well. I’ve uploaded the pictures we took to our gallery. The theme we picked for this year’s party was farm animals: we bought several related party favors over the Internet but The Girls’ favorite—by far—were two Mylar balloons of a pig and a [...]
It’s Official!
Tuesday, October 18th, 2005Madeline is on the move. She can be placed on the floor and will scoot over to whatever she wants. She is very determined to play with Kimberly and Annie. I love to see them interacting with her. They can be so rough with one another, but with her they are so gentle and kind. [...]
Happy Cake
Monday, October 17th, 2005Today Kimberly turned 2 so I stayed home from work. You may remember that we bought The Girls a Jump-o-lene for their birthdays; we gave it to them this morning and they loved it. Well, actually, Kimberly loved it—Annie just enjoyed it. (I think it’s because Annie can’t really jump yet and Kimberly can.) Kimmie [...]
A Good Suck
Friday, October 14th, 2005“Pacifier Use May Help Prevent SIDS”: I can totally believe this and I am very glad that all of our girls love a nighttime pacifier. (And you wondered how Maggie from The Simpsons was able to stay alive so long in that crazy household.)
Three Weeks Old and Potty Trained
Friday, October 14th, 2005Diaper-Free Baby: here’s some FAQ if you’re interested in potty training your newborn. *ahem* I’m dubious, at best. The cost of a mistake by a newborn is very much not pretty.
Date night!
Wednesday, October 12th, 2005Tonight Mommy and Daddy went on a date! It was fabulous. We went to fondue at The Melting Pot. Bill had been promising me fondue for years. Finally it happened.
The cheese was great! The salad was inviting! The main course was delectable! Finally, the desert was divine!! [...]
Huh?
Wednesday, October 12th, 2005Lately Kimmie is obsessed with her “happy cake.” Yesterday she told Bill and I that she wants a “monkey holding happy cake!”
Where am I supposed to get that!?!?!?!?
She also wants a bike or a firetruck! She is getting a trike from Grandma and Grandpa, but a firetruck. Hmmm . . [...]
Cannot be real!
Tuesday, October 11th, 2005[UPDATE (bbrown): Note, these were posted on October 11th. They're dynamic and real-time so they change every day. We didn't think to take a snapshot. Sorry.]
Twins or Singleton
Monday, October 10th, 2005Which is easier, better, etc…? I get asked these questions all the time.
Not an easy one to answer for each is better in their own way.
Twins are great beacuse there are two! You and your husband can each hold a baby. When you are rocking the two of them your arms are [...]
Silence, If You Please
Saturday, October 8th, 2005“Katie Holmes will try for drug-free, ’silent birth’”: proof positive that Scientology is totally crazy (if Tom Cruise’s behavior wasn’t proof enough for you).
Kimmie’s present!
Friday, October 7th, 2005Today Kimberly’s present arrived. It is the Jump-o-lene. If you have seen her lately you would know that this is a great match for her. She loves to jump. She jumps on all the time. Tonight she and Annie were prentending to be frogs. They were jumping all over the [...]
Finger paint fun!
Tuesday, October 4th, 2005You can have it too! Today I made finger paints for my girls. They loved it. Here is the recipe:
2 cups cold water
3 tsp sugar
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 tbsp light corn syrup
liquid food coloring
small bowls with lids
In a small pot, stir water, sugar, and cornstarch. Whisk over low heat for 5 minutes [...]
Impressions
Tuesday, October 4th, 2005Annie’s also been doing some neat little things that I’ve noticed in the diminished hours I’ve spent at home of late. The biggest thing, to me at least, is that she reminds me so much of myself. She zones out while watching the TV, she shovels food instead of eating them delicately, and she’s intensely [...]
Regular Feedings
Tuesday, October 4th, 2005Tonight I fed Madeline her squash for the first time. She has a big appetite and she was getting mad at me for taking too long with the bites.
Up to now—rather, lately—we’ve divvied up The Girls so that I take care of the two big girls when I’m home and Sandi fulfills Madeline’s needs. I’ve [...]
