Unruly children

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

are living in our home. Their names are Annie and Kimberly and they are displaying some average 2 year old stuff that is making us bonkers.
It boils down to:

misbehaving when they know the offense is not allowed
hitting, smacking, pushing each other and the baby
spitting on each other or just for fun
being ornery [...]

White on babies

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

I absolutely love the look of white on babies. I was reminded of this yesterday as I dressed Mimi in a white decorative onesies. She was so adorable. The white accents the pureness and innocence of the child.
Now of course there is a reason I do not dress the children [...]

All the Brown children are well!!

Kimmie’s turn

Monday, May 29th, 2006

Kimmie had a 102 fever last night. She seems to be taking it all in stride. Mimi is still sick with fever and now runny nose. Annie is feeling completely better.

Playing in the hose!

Friday, May 26th, 2006

The girls were doing their normal thing of playing in the yard with the hose. About half way through you can get a real sense of how incredibly bossy Ms. Kimmie is. Annie’s facial expression tells all that she is not hip to it.

Annie is sick too!

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

Annie woke up this morning with a 102 degree fever. I have been medicating her all day with Motrin™ and Tylenol™. The fever has yet to really break. My poor girl. I took her to the Dr. this afternoon and it is not strep or an ear infection. [...]

But I need to!

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

This is Kimberly’s catch phrase these days. It can be used to answer practically any question. It really sums up her new-found sasafrasness too! She loves to tell you this and really for any reason. It is cute now but I know it will wear on me.

Mimi is still sick

Monday, May 22nd, 2006

For the last 5 weeks Madeline has been trying to fight off a virus. She has had one ear afflicted, then the next and then both! This last round she was on Zithromax for a left ear infection. Not only did this not fix that ear infection it allowed a second to [...]

Where do you go?

Sunday, May 21st, 2006

Annie and Kimberly are currently obsessed with going pee in the yard like Penny!!!! They say “I need to go potty” and then run for the dog door so that they can go in the yard!!!
Yeah, they are a bit nutty. Just praying it is just a phase!!! I have tried reasoning [...]

Sunday School

Sunday, May 21st, 2006

Today was the first day of Sunday School for Annie and Kimberly. They had a great time. When Aunt Steph and I dropped them off they just walked off and started playing. They were not upset one bit when we left them. We took our paging number and expected to see [...]

Gymnastics

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

Today we had a fun time at gymnastics. The girls love absolutely everything about gymanastics. They even had new outfits today that Grandma bought for them.
Today at gym they approached me and asked if I would be interested in private lessons for Kimmie and Annie. They do have a natural talent. I told them [...]

Another first!

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

Today while swimming in the backyard Kimberly stepped on a bee. My poor little peanut! She is currently sitting with me with ice on it. I am kinda relieved to know that she is not allergic to bees but it was so sad. Glad Bill was not home, he is deathly [...]

Potty Training - Phase 2

Monday, May 15th, 2006

We have moved on to nap training and using the big potty! Nap training is going okay. They still wet often but not a big deal as I am using pullups for that time. Annie got out of bed today and went poop!!! Later Kimberly went poop on the big potty!
They are definitely getting [...]

Mother’s Day

Sunday, May 14th, 2006

Mother’s Day is full of many emotions for me.
Happiness and Price: First, I want to say how proud and honored I am to have my Mother as my Mom. She is an amazing woman. She works from sun-up to sundown most days and is committed to her children. Without [...]

More sickies

Friday, May 12th, 2006

Kimberly’s pink eye has gone away!! She is feeling better and couldn’t be more happy that she no longer has to have the eye drops put in 4 times a day!
Mimi’s pink eye was not clearing so I took her into the Dr. today. Turns out her left ear is infected [...]

Where do we go from here

Wednesday, May 10th, 2006

Potty training the girls has gone reasonably well. They rarely have pee pee accidents and they have each only had one poopy panties accident. Now I say all this and I want you to know that this is just when we are at home. Most of the time they are naked. [...]

Kimmie has pink eye.

Monday, May 8th, 2006

I am not sure where she got it from. I hope that no of the other kids get it. Putting the eye drops in is not easy!!!

No Accidents!

Monday, May 8th, 2006

Today was accident free by my potty training beauties!!! :D

Thoughts to ponder

Monday, May 8th, 2006

So often I am so busy just in the day to day maintenance of my family that I forget about this ever important question. Last night I was reading from “5 Star Families” and was reminded in a second that I need to focus more on this. The author gave such perspective. She wrote about [...]

Potty Training - Day 2

Sunday, May 7th, 2006

—- Please tell me this is going to get better —-
Today was a great day for training Kimberly. She did not have one accident. She even pooped on the potty. Annie was another story, all the progress she made yesterday seem to fall by the wayside. Not sure if [...]
