Family time

Sunday, January 28th, 2007

Today we had my Brother and his children, my Sister and her son and my parents over for dinner, along with “Aunt” Steph. We had a wonderful time hanging out and playing games. All the kids were running amok in the yard. It was a nice afternoon. I am glad that we are all able [...]

Naughty children

Friday, January 26th, 2007

Today the girls have been very naughty. Kimberly painted the baby with watercolors. That encouraged the baby to paint herself as well. Later when we were scrapbooking I had to put Madeline in time out for biting. While I was in the living room Annie and Kimberly got the pictures that they know they are [...]

Chewing away

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

Yesterday I took the kids to QT, a quickie mart, and allowed them to pick a candy. Generally they do not get to do this so it is a real treat. As soon as I mentioned the outing to Annie she proclaimed that she was going to be having pink gum. When in the store [...]

Girls first bike ride

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

Today I took the girls on their first bike ride. The weather has finally gotten nice, not rainy and cold. Annie is a speed demon just like her father. Kimberly likes to ride along nice and easy. Thankfully our neighbor Tracy went along with us to keep track of the differing speeds. Mimi really enjoyed [...]

Sushi Virgins No More

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

Tonight we took The Girls to our favorite sushi restaurant, Tokyo Lobby. Nothing particularly new about that; I didn’t call it our favorite because we never go there. Tonight, though, they tried their first piece of sushi in addition to their standard fare of edamame—incidentally, they call the restaurant “Edamame” which they rechristened “Edamermaid” on [...]

Can you find me?

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

Yesterday we taught the kids hide and go seek. They were so cute. They loved hiding and seeking. They found many great hiding places and I know it will improve their counting skills. Mimi really has no idea what is going on, but she loves to hide with one of us.

Pink and purple

Friday, January 19th, 2007

Mimi does not talk as of yet so it is hard to know what she does know. We know that she can answer any yes or no question by nodding her head. Her comprehension level is very astute. Today she was looking at her sister’s new tiara and pointed to the pink gem and the [...]

What’s cooking?

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

Lately the girls have shown much interest in helping out with dinner. I generally give them butter knifes and allow them to cut something that is the ingredient for that night’s dinner. They love to watch the cooking show 30 Minute Meals with Rachael Ray. They always want to find out what she is making. [...]

Sometimes you have to dance

Monday, January 15th, 2007

Tonight after dinner the girls and I were dancing around enjoying some music and good company. It was such a sweet family memory. I can remember my parents doing the same thing with my brother and sister and I when we were growing up. I love the moments where we are able to just take [...]

Haircuts for all

Monday, January 15th, 2007

Today all the members of the Brown family went to Cousin Michelle’s for haircuts. Annie and Kimberly love going out there. Michelle has 5 kids and they have tons of toys. The girls have a hay day out there. Bill seriously needed a haircut or we were going to have to start calling him Shaggy. [...]

1st day of ballet and tap class!

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

My girls in their ballet outifits. They really enjoyed the class. It was so bittersweet to see them so grown up. I was so proud of how the were intently listening to their teacher. They loved it. They were trying everything she asked them to do. Such good listeners. Full set here. As usual, private [...]

Patty cake

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

Annie playing patty cake with Daphne. Yeah, those are her Little Einstein pajamas Grammy bought her for Christmas. She loves them even though they only have the boys on them.

Braids

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

Today was the first day I braided the girls hair. I think it came out pretty cute.

Look and Feel

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

As you may have noticed (if you’re not one of our 1 RSS feed subscribers), we’ve changed our look. Every now and then (okay, in our case, never before) you have to update things or else they get stale. I modified the heck out of the Citrus Explosion free WordPress theme under Sandi’s watchful eye. [...]

Isn’t love great!

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

The greatest healing therapy is friendship and love. ~ Hubert Humprey Frederick Tsoukas Just wanted to remember this time of love.

Out of service

Monday, January 8th, 2007

“My ding dong is broken.” ~ Annie Said when playing outside in her playhouse. Our neighbor has a sign on her doorbell that says it is broken. Annie wanted one for hers, too!

I want to be like Annie

Monday, January 8th, 2007

She slept in this morning until 9!

A moment of peace

Monday, January 8th, 2007

The kids received many stuffed walking, talking, barking, flipping, oinking, and snorting toys over the holiday. It is hard for me to limit these items for the children because they really do love them, but they were making me crazy. For whatever reason the kids have kind of moved away from them. I am ohhh [...]
