Madeline is free again!

By sandi | April 26, 2007

Madeline had her EEG removed today. She did such a great job. She got right up on the bed and lay down. It was so wonderful. He took the electrodes off with acetone, same thing in finger polish rremover. She was so great. While he was rubbing her head she actually started falling to sleep. He said that had never happened to him.

Here is a pic just before removal.

Here she is while he is removing them.

The machine recorded everything and I suspect we will not hear anything back until her appointment with the neurologist in mid May.

Now we just have to get the gunk out of her hair!

***Update*** Getting that stuff out of her hair is going to be the most traumatic part of this ordeal. :( I washed her hair with baby oil and shampoo to loosen it. It did not help much. I tried to comb it out. No good either. Will have to use acetone nail polish remover tomorrow.

Iwould try peanut butter first. Just rub it in then wash it out. If you need some let me know.

Ahhh- this is the part that must have been traumatizing to me as well- as that is all that I remember from my whole experience as a child too. Just a happy note- I do not have any glue on my head now! HEHEHE. It will be hard- but the knowledge that you care about her health is all worth it!

Sandi, peanut butter is good for getting gum out, maybe it will work on that stuff too. If you do go with the acetone, I would put a good conditioner, a grown up one, in her hair because acetone has a very drying effect on skin, nails, and I am sure hair too.
