Today was the last day of the summer dance class. Mimi’s class invited friends and family to come and watch them. It was super sweet. Mimi wanted to wear her special tutu that Ms. Carolyn gave her. She looked gorgeous. The biggest accomplishment of the class was that she would hold hands with the other [...]
“Drive your MINI Cooper! Don’t bump into anybody!” — Kimberly Said in sending me off to work this morning.
They finally came out and re-dug the pool to the right depth. Now they just have to put the pipes back under ground and get back on track.
“Abre!” — Kimberly When asked what the secret word was to get the door opened.
Today was the first day Kimberly was ever able to write her entire name in a straight line. She used to just make all her letters every which way. What an exciting development in her reading readiness.
Today all the plumbing went in. The filtration system was installed and the chlorine generator. bad news is that the superintendent came out today and found out that our pool will finish at 5 foot 2 inches. So we were moving along so quickly but now we are sliding back so that it can be [...]
Today the dig was complete.
Today was a busy day. They got a lot of the pool dug.
The girls have become very interested in stuff that was theirs when they were babies. They love to use their silver spoons. Today they were eating beanie weenies, hot dogs cut up in pork and beans, with them. I thought it was fun and funny!
“I can’t open the door! My hands are too wet from dancing in the rain!” ~ Kimberly Yesterday we had a midday monsoon. It had been so hot recently so in true native Arizonan fashion we all went out and danced in it. Kimmie needed to go inside to use the restroom when she said [...]
This weekend, Sandi went on a scrapbooking vacation for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I watched The Girls and Sandi was able to whip up 112 pages! And not just your average, run-of-the-mill pages either: they’re prime Cassandra Brown quality. Two incidents stick out in my mind from the weekend amid the bicycle accidents that weren’t [...]
Here is a pic of the pool laid out on our land.
Today we hosted a Princess Tea Party at our house with Annie and Kimberly’s friend Bella from dance class. We served “tea” aka apple juice, butterfly sugar cookies with M&M’s on them, grapes and strawberries and cookies Bella brought. It was such a cute little playdate. Of course all the girls were dressed up for [...]
Last night as I was reading to the girls from the Madeline book by Ludwig Bemelmans I saw that one of the stories was dedicated to Mimi. I found that interesting, since many people cannot see how Mimi would be related to Madeline, the name. I did some research and found out that it is [...]
No Mimi has not started gaining weight. She refuses for me to call her a big girl. Letting me know each time that she is my baby. She will allow me to call her my big baby so that is what I do. Today Mimi was able to chew gum and not swallow it. She [...]
“I didn’t burp!” ~ Annie Said to me after I told her to say excuse me when passing behind someone. It was funny to me that she only knew the one use for the term excuse me.
Tonight, we took our friend Stephanie to Sapporo for her *mumble* birthday. Sandi and I have been to many dinners there and it’s definitely one of our favorite restaurants. We always eat at the teppan tables, so we decided to treat Steph to a nice meal. She had never been to Sapporo or any place [...]
“Wait for me your royal highness.” ~ Annie This is generally followed by Annie asking Kimmie to wait for her. When that does not work she calls her your royal highness. It is hilarious! Guess Annie knows how to get Kimmie to do things. She pulls this out often and it is so funny to [...]
Today Grammy celebrated her golden birthday! We brought her lunch and enjoyed some cake with her. We also took the girls to the public pool for the first time. They loved spending the time with Grammy!
The girls bathroom used to be duck decor but Annie used to sit on the commode and pick at the duck wall paper border. I couldn’t stand it anymore so I made a plan to redecorate the bathroom. Bill found these cute wall shelves the other day and I figured I would decorate around the [...]« Previous Entries
