Friday, September 28th, 2007Or at least Annie thinks so.
“Mom, did you make that big puddle just for me? I love puddles!” ~ Annie
This morning I set up the sprinkler to water the lawn. (Still need to fix sprinklers since pool was put in.) Somewhere between showering, getting the kids ready, going to Target, Joann’s, Costco, post [...]
A new door opens
Friday, September 28th, 2007In life Bill and I have experienced more than one bend in the road. We have traveled through such rough times and such glorious times. To say the least it has been quite an interesting experience.
Adoption is such a interesting experience unto it’s own. Finding your child who is somewhere [...]
A year later
Friday, September 28th, 2007One year ago today our lives were shaken by a seizure. Madeline was forever changed in the blink of an eye. All that was taken for granted was seen in a new light.
I can still remember the moment clear as day. I can hear the sirens of the ambulance, see the [...]
Petition needs attention
Thursday, September 27th, 2007If you have time please sign this petition. Bring some hope to those families caught in this horrible situation.
Results are in
Wednesday, September 26th, 2007I had a ruptured ovarian cyst. I still have a 3cm cyst hanging out there. I also have a 1.7 cm something on my right kidney. I will have schedule an ultrasound with my gyno tomorrow and then another scan on my kidney in mid November.
I am a bit peeved that I am [...]
Not so great news for Guatemalan orphans
Wednesday, September 26th, 2007The U.S. Department of State issued a very serious warning today about Guatemalan adoptions. The warning indicates that when Guatemala becomes a Hague country on January 1st, adoption cases in-process (pending) WILL NOT BE GRANDFATHERED IN under the current adoption laws and MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE COMPLETED.
We knew that this was coming. [...]
Happy Birthday Mommy
Tuesday, September 25th, 2007Today was my birthday and it started out nice. Bill stayed home from work and I got to sleep in until 8 am!!! When I woke up my 3 sweet girls brought me gifts in bed. Annie got me a grape scented candle. Bill said she was adamant [...]
Mimi’s new big baby bed
Monday, September 24th, 2007On Friday we went and got Madeline’s new bed. We have been talking to her for a couple of weeks about how she needs to give up her crib to Baby Brother. She had come around to thinking it was a good idea and so we jumped on it. We have a [...]
MEOW
Monday, September 24th, 2007I made Annie’s cat costume today. She loves it and look so cute in it. She helped stuff the tail and is so proud of herself.
This fabric is very furry and very soft. However, it has made a huge mess of me and the dining room. I had to [...]
NPR what a joke
Thursday, September 20th, 2007I am seething from this report. This is completely outrageous. If they wanted to actually take a closer look perhaps they would have looked at all the wonderful successful things that happen due to Guatemalan adoptions. This is so upsetting. They find one lady who was apparently “tricked” into giving her baby up, [...]
Mimi’s first braid
Thursday, September 20th, 2007Back on September 15th Mimi had her first braid. I did not get the pics uploaded until recently.
She loves to wear hair pretties and always wants a braid like her sisters. Mimi is still working on growing hair so this can be a challenge. Just the other day [...]
Adoption questions answered
Wednesday, September 19th, 2007*Are we crazy? Nope we are not. We just feel that we have love in our hearts for another child.
*How long will it take? It depends. There is no set time that these kind of things take. Put it on par with a elephant pregnancy and you will have it [...]
Speech revisited
Wednesday, September 19th, 2007Today I took Mimi to what was supposed to be her 2nd to the last speech therapy session. That is no longer the case. Mimi has plateaued, which is not normal in speech development with young children. She continues to be at the exact level she was 2 months ago.
In [...]
Pregnant with Paperwork
Tuesday, September 18th, 2007We are currently in the phase of the adoption that is considered pregnant with paperwork. There will be plenty of days like this. I know many of you are wondering what is going on. The reason we aren’t posting is because nothing is really going on. When something happens [...]
Annie the fish
Monday, September 17th, 2007Annie is beginning to swim so well. Each of the kids do daily lessons with me in the pool and Annie has really taken to it. She loves to swim by herself. She almost swam from one side to the other! Today she also perfected her cannonball! I am proud [...]

Enjoy!

My 1st Quilt
Monday, September 10th, 2007This weekend I took a quilt class. It was so much fun. I am so glad that I took the class I learned so many great tips and was able to communicate with some great ladies.
I decided to make a Christmas quilt. I love the way all the fabrics look together. [...]

This is the name Kimberly wants to call her baby brother. By the way we are not entertaining the idea.
Day 1 swimming
Saturday, September 8th, 2007Today the children woke up at 7 am looked out the second story window and declared that the pool was filled and they could now jump in. By the time I got downstairs to fix them some breakfast they were dressed in bathing suits and ready to dive in. We had to [...]
