5 happy families

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Yesterday our agency issued five referrals to families. This is such exciting news! While we were not one of the people to receive one, each referral issued brings us one step closer to our son. I am especially excited for this family. I can’t wait to see their sweet boy!

Giving back

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

The other day the girls and I were watching a program on PBS. It was a wonderful program talking about Africa. The things they were talking about were hard to hear, but the fact that my three little girls were so interested in seeing “Ethiopia” was so heart warming. It reminded me of when I [...]

Hungry girls

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

The girls have been very hungry lately, not missing snacks and eating their entire meals. For most kids that is a normal occurrence, but for Annie and Kimberly (the birds) this is not. Yesterday Kimberly ate three, yeah threepieces of pizza. She followed that up this morning with her normal egg and 1/2 piece of [...]

Making a difference

Monday, April 7th, 2008

For the past year we have welcomed Mimi’s developmental occupational therapist into our home once a week. She is such a fabulous lady and has really made an impact on Mimi’s life. We will miss having Gina in our lives. In Madeline’s review today she noted that Mimi is working at age appropriate with her [...]

Sunny days are here again!

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

The weather has been staying over 80 degrees lately and it is clear that summer is on its way. In honor of the heat the girls and I went shopping Monday for fabric for new sundresses. Annie and her princess fabric. Mimi in her Elmo’s World dress.

Chalk outlines

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

The other day Mimi drew her first person on the white board. Kimberly saw it and told her it was not good enough and Mimi promptly erased it. I was so upset and had a long talk with Kimmie about how she treated Mimi, how Madeline was doing the best she could, and that when [...]

True love

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

“Mom! He is not your true love! Your true love is at work!” ~ Kimberly Today as we were leaving Costco the man who was checking our reciept drew a picture that the girls said was me. I said of course it was me, that the man loved me. Kimberly responded incredulously with the above [...]

Quiet times

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

“Could you guys PLEASE be QUIET!” ~ Annie She said she could not get her running shoes on with all the noise in the van. She told us that we all needed to be quiet, which is hilarious because often she is the loudest. I guess she knew what she needed though since it did [...]

The surreal, imminent, wonderful moment we are pining for.

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

It really is so weird to be waiting on a referral. Each morning I wake with excitement that today could be the day. Seriously, in my mind, I doubt that it will, but it could be and that is exciting. I know that the day will come like all the others and I know that [...]
