Maturing Voice

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Annie has the highest tolerance for pain. Sometime over the weekend I bumped her ear when combing her hair, she winced in pain and told me to not touch her ear again. I really didn’t think much of it since when combing her hair while she is watching tv I can sometimes clip an ear [...]

Cancelled classes

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

This weeks lessons are cancelled on account of there being a bacteria at one of the public pools. The bacteria was not found in the pool my kids go to but the city is being overcautious. Guess we will have to swim in our own pool this week.

Happy Birthday Grammy

Monday, July 14th, 2008

The post may be delayed, but we celebrated with her on her actual birthday the 10th of July. We started off the day by bringing her coffee and flowers and inviting her to watch the kids at swim class. She came along and enjoyed the experience. Then we took her back to work and went [...]

Visiting friends

Monday, July 14th, 2008

Today our friends Ms. V and her little ladies A&C came to swim. We had such a nice afternoon with pizza, snacks, swimming and chatting. Our kids got along so well and everyone had fun. Such a nice diversion and helped today go by quickly. Annie and C found a beetle bug that they named [...]

18 weeks and counting

Friday, July 11th, 2008

Well week 18 has come and passed. There really isn’t much else to say. . . 18 weeks thinking that each day could be the day that your family is complete is exhausting. I am glad the weekend is here so that I can have a couple of days rest. (Since they don’t give referrals [...]

Staying connected

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

For the past several weeks I have been keeping connected to the world. I make sure I know where the phone is when I am at home, I take my cell phone everywhere with me when I am not at home and I even put the phone out on the patio when the kids and [...]

Go Daddies!

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

We just found out today that Go Daddy is offering adoption assistance to the tune of $5,000! They also announced up to 12 weeks of paid maternity leave and 1 week of paid paternity leave. This is a very generous benefit and I couldn’t be happier with the Daddy at this point. (On a side [...]

Faith makes things possible, not easy. ~Author Unknown

Monday, July 7th, 2008

There was a referral today from our agency for a sweet baby girl. We are hoping and praying that someday soon we will be able to stare for hours on end at our sons adorable face. We are very close, I can feel it . . . or at least I hope we are. Come [...]

Makes them laugh

Monday, July 7th, 2008

Dear Readers, I have never understood why children think words like underpants, fart, or burp are hilarious. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Yours Respectfully, Sandi

Recycled bits

Monday, July 7th, 2008

A while back I finally settled on a quilt design for the kids baby crib bumpers. Here it was back then. Since I have made plans to keep myself very busy while we wait for our referral , I went shopping last Thursday for fabric to do Kimmie’s quilt. Then I settled in and tore [...]

How many more days?

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

“How many more days until my birthday?” ~ Kimberly Me in my ever annoyed voice since this is a daily question, “at least 100 more days.” Then it hit me like a ton of brick. It will be more than a hundred days until I hold my son in my arms. Tomorrow marks 10 months [...]

Moving forward

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

There were no referrals offered today. I am doing well with this information. Several days ago I felt very calm and at peace. Of course, I would have rather had him home yesterday but I know this is the plan for him and us. So we are moving forward and looking forward to bringing him [...]

We Love Lucy

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

The kids really adore Lucy. I think the previous picture showed Kimberly’s admiration well and so I have to include pics of the other two with her. Here is Mimi getting loved on by Lucy. Here is Annie hugging on Lucy. If you look closely you can see that she is basically forcing Lucy to [...]
