Thursday, October 9th, 2008Is our court date!!!!! Hopefully it will be successful and Paul will legally become our son! With this court date we were given an estimated embassy appointment of December 11th. If everything works out we could be arriving in Ethiopia just on or before Paul’s birthday and be able to hold him in our arms! [...]
Thursday, October 9th, 2008A precious boy was born. We have yet to hold his hand but we have seen his face and given him our unconditional love. He is an amazing boy and we cannot wait to bring him home. Paul, Happy 10 months old. Although we are not there to hold you today we will be there [...]
Sinking
Wednesday, October 8th, 2008A small leak can sink a great ship. ~Benjamin Franklin We have a slab leak. We have been without water since Monday evening. This freak situation had nothing to do with the water heater, in fact the water heater situation could have made this more pronounced and thus we found it. Because we shut off [...]
I will carry you
Tuesday, October 7th, 2008My baby hawk finally arrived today. It is so great!!! I love it. Of course the girls and I had to try it out. Mimi in the front position. Annie in the back Love it! The carrier is so big though, and Paul is so small. I am sure it will be perfect for him.
She cried
Monday, October 6th, 2008I know all kids cry but as a general rule my babies didn’t cry. I believe that I needed to be there for them, my style of attachment parenting means that nobody cries it out and nobody cries, they get their needs met. It is my opinion that babies are very simple humans, they have [...]
Fire Camp
Monday, October 6th, 2008“Mom, after dinner can we have a fire camp?” ~ Kimberly, Annie or Mimi Ever since last weekend and our fire in the backyard the kids have been wanting to have another. They call it a fire camp instead of a camp fire. So cute.
Finally stocked
Monday, October 6th, 2008The etsy store is finally stocked for October. I was unable to get any of the Halloween stuff up because it was snatched up by family and friends before it could be listed. I have some great birthday table runners listed though that I think are super cute! Take a look!
Pioneer Spirit
Sunday, October 5th, 2008Since Thurday night we have been without hot water. In the beginning it really wasn’t a big deal. Days were warmer so the water coming out from the pipes wasn’t all that cold anyhow. All in all the experience was not bad. We had dinner at the Open House on Friday night, lunch out after [...]
Pumpkin Patch fun
Saturday, October 4th, 2008Today was our annual pumpkin patch day. This is a tradition that Bill and I started for Annie and Kimberly’s first Halloween. It has become one that we cherish and enjoy. This morning we woke up bright and early, (really we always do but today we did with more purpose) piled in the van and [...]
Aren’t I Already?
Saturday, October 4th, 2008“Dad, you wanna get rips?” — Annie While watching Rupert, a commercial for Iron Gym came on and said that it’ll help you “get ripped.” Kimberly said that she’s getting it for me for my birthday and Annie wanted to know if I was interested in getting ripped too.
Waiting it out
Friday, October 3rd, 2008As expected the wait after referral has been markedly easier. I am so calm and serene. That was not the case pre-referral. In fact just a couple of days before the referral happened I had a serious breakdown. Knowing who my son is and the little bit of facts that I know about him made [...]
Open House
Friday, October 3rd, 2008Tonight we went to the preschool for open house. It was neat to see the Girls and have them show us around, even though I remember the church from my childhood it was neat to get their perspective. The girls have been studying dinosaurs and learned so much. They made dioramas and sculptures that we [...]
Crazy Dream
Thursday, October 2nd, 2008Last night I had a very odd dream. It was finally time to go get Paul and when we went he was in his 60′s. It was so crazy. Everyone else was picking up their infants. I don’t think that this dream holds any extra meaning other than the fact that this journey to get [...]
