Thursday, February 26th, 2009Lately our girls have been obsessed with money. They want to earn money to buy things. I don’t want to just give them money to buy the things they desire so I told them that I had three jobs available and that I was willing to pay someone a dollar for each one. I needed [...]
Shorty boy
Thursday, February 26th, 2009Paul has been growing well lately and is finally moving up into some of his 9 & 12 month clothes. This is great news. Only trouble is that he is still quite short. I put a new shirt on him the other day and it was so long. He looked like a high school kid [...]
On the road again
Tuesday, February 24th, 2009I am beginning to feel more and more like myself again. I smile when I should and don’t bust out into tears at the drop a hat. I think that figuring out what it was, identifying it, and owning up to it has made a huge difference in me. I don’t think I thought I [...]
Welcoming our boy
Sunday, February 22nd, 2009I know Paul has been home almost three months and it seems silly to be finally welcoming him, but between transitioning into normal life, Christmas, illness and other things we finally got around to having a party with friends and family to welcome him. It was a Welcome Home/1st birthday party and it was fun. [...]

Thursday, February 19th, 2009First Five Gimme Gimme The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! my choice. for you. this offer does have some restrictions and limitations: 1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! 2. What I create will be just for you. 3. It’ll be [...]
Someday I hope you grow up and have a child just like you!
Thursday, February 19th, 2009Well dear Mother that wish has come true! Today was conference day at preschool. I went and listened to how bright and advanced my girls are and how they can go above and beyond the standards for their age—then I listened to how they behave. I was informed that Kimberly is a quiet girl. REALLY!?!??!? [...]

Post Adoption Blues
Wednesday, February 18th, 2009My life is perfect—really it is exactly what I wished and hoped it would be so it is in fact perfect to me—so why then am I suffering from blues. This has been looming for some time. When I came back from Ethiopia I never really got back into my old groove. I thought that [...]
Hineys Were Frozen Off
Sunday, February 15th, 2009It was a mighty cold day today, so you know what that means… Time for the Brown Family Chapter of the Polar Bear Club to meet and do its annual swim, of course! You may remember that I was the founding member last year. This year’s membership drive swelled the chapter’s ranks to a grand [...]
Up one wall and down the other
Friday, February 13th, 2009I love these kids so much but somedays they really drain me. Kimmie is on a kick where she is very defiant. She will do something she knows is wrong and then say, “I don’t care.” Seriously I don’t know where she comes up with this stuff. Mimi is 3 and just thinks she is [...]
Ding dong
Thursday, February 12th, 2009the parasites are DEAD! Wohoo! Seems the antiparasitic drugs I took did kill the parasites. Only problem was when I was itching it so badly I allowed a fungal skin infection to get in. I am now on a cream to eliminate the fungal infection. Woohoo!
Only one thing better
Wednesday, February 11th, 2009I can only imagine one thing better than receiving a referral for a beautiful baby boy from Ethiopia – twin boys!!!!! My friend Stephanie and her husband Matt received the good news today!!!! *BTW this was only rhetorical, Paul is the absolute most perfect referral ever, at least to me. I just love twins though, [...]
Mom’s Night Out
Tuesday, February 10th, 2009It was a wonderful experience. I loved having that special time with my Mother and my two older girls. Like the typical sap that I am, I got a little mist in my eye when they introduced us. Hearing the pride in their voice and their maturity to speak to such a large group really [...]
She’s back!
Tuesday, February 10th, 2009Annie is back on her feet again! My spunky girl is back in full spunk mode and bounced off to preschool this morning! Hooray! She is fever free and finally has her appetite back.
Still pathetic
Monday, February 9th, 2009Annie still has this odd fever and no other symptoms. She has had it since Thursday afternoon. I started getting really worried yesterday and decided to take her in to the doctor. They couldn’t find anything wrong with her and said it was most likely a virus, maybe Roseola but maybe just a flu strain. [...]
19 pounds 8 ounces
Monday, February 9th, 2009Paul is really catching up on his weight! He currently weighs in at 19 pounds 8 ounces. He has grown a half of an inch and is doing great. Both of his ears were clear as well from his ear infection. I am so pleased at the growth and adjustment he has made. He is [...]
Climbing boy
Monday, February 9th, 2009Paul loves to climb up on things. He watches his sisters use the stools in the kitchen and loves to climb up them to see if he can help out. He enjoys climbing the stairs even though he is not very careful about it and doesn’t understand the importance of not turning back and almost [...]
Concerned Kimmie
Saturday, February 7th, 2009“Mom why do people keep bees?” ~ Kimmie asked while in pantry “Mom did the bees get to keep some of this honey too?” ~ Kimmie asked while holding up the bear honey jar She has seen the Bee Movie and apparently is seriously concerned about bee’s rights. I assured her that the bees kept [...]
My most pathetic one :(
Friday, February 6th, 2009Poor Annie has been sick for a day now with a 102° fever. My poor girl. She is the most pathetic looking sick person. I hope she feels better soon, it is so hard to see her this way.
Food issues
Friday, February 6th, 2009I never really realized how much the impact of feeding my children varied food from very young ages had on their outlook on food until I met Paul. Sure people would stop me and wonder why my 2 year old really liked mustard or why my 4 year olds love sushi but I thought, that [...]
