Can it really be that long ago?

Indeed it is. We met Paul just three months ago. He has already changed so much. It has been amazing to watch him acclimate to his new life. We are amazed each day that he is finally here. He fits into our family so well.

Here is a picture from the first time we met. We both were staring at each other. I love this photo because I can only imagine what he is thinking. It was an awesome moment.

In three short months he has learned to do so much. Here is a laundry list of all his skills:
walking like a pro
says “dat” to all animals
high five
low five
kiss closed mouth
blow kisses
shake head “no”
climb
lay in bed and fall asleep on his own (most of the time)
pincher grasp of foods, especially peas
play peek-a-boo
point to Mommy
understands instructions

He still loves mashed potato and at least several times a week I make them for dinner or lunch and slip all sorts of food in them. He can’t tell it is there, he eats a lot of his protein in this manner.

His favorite veggie is peas. He will eat an entire can if I let him.

He is still not fond of fruit but he will eat muffins or nutra grain bars. The other day he got a hold of Annie’s apple and was chewing the tiniest bits off of it. I am hoping that with continued exposure to the taste he will take to it soon.

I really thought that his transition was going to still be going on. He is doing amazingly well. The Girls are smothering him with love and he loves it. He has already given up the bottle and is maturing at a rapid rate.

Thankfully I am not sad about all of this. I love to see him grow and mature. He is such an amazing child. The past three months have flown by. I know that before I can blink he will be in kindergarten and off on his own adventure. It is such a privilege to be his Mother.

Amado loves this photo too. :)

I’m so glad the adjustment seemed natural and that he’s doing so well.

He is a beautiful boy with a beautiful family.
