Thursday, April 30th, 2009Madeline had her 4 year old well check and she is doing very well. She is in the 25th percentile for both height and weight. She had to have 2 shots today and she was not happy about that. It was the first time she has had a hard time being brave for a medical [...]
Thank God it isn’t swine flu
Wednesday, April 29th, 2009My Paulie has been sick again. He wasn’t getting better so I took him in. I suspected he had strep throat because it was being passed around at preschool. While the big Girls didn’t get it my little man did. He is on antibiotics now. As to the title didn’t actually think he had swine [...]
Sometimes you have to wonder
Tuesday, April 28th, 2009The other day I was washing Kimberly’s hair. She had been rolling in the grass so I expected to be pulling chunks of grass out of her hair but while I was massaging her head I ran across this. Yes my dear readers that is a cow, the little things in front of the cow [...]
Birthday quiz
Tuesday, April 28th, 2009I saw this interview on another mommy blog and thought it was great to keep track of the information as each child matures. I just found this but hopefully I will remember to do this at each child’s birthday. Here are Madeline’s favorite things at 4 years old: Color: “lellow” otherwise known as yellow Sport: [...]
Mommy and Daddy
Monday, April 27th, 2009Little Paul can now say Mommy and Daddy! He says it deliberately and means it! He also can say the word “more”. It is so wonderful to see this growth of the English language begin in him. At Mimi’s tea party he drank from an open tea cup and didn’t spill a drop. Guess 4 [...]
Personal responsibility
Thursday, April 23rd, 2009This is a hot topic these days and of course there are many implications in this in our parenting. There is a popular song on country music stations lately called Shutting Detroit Down by John Rich. It isn’t often that you catch the beginning of the song even though it is full of the most [...]
Thank you preschool teachers
Tuesday, April 21st, 2009“Mom, when I grow up I want to be a circus clown!” ~Kimmie Kimberly said this in the car on the way home from preschool today. Yep, they are studying the circus and she thinks the tricks clowns can do are cool. I am hoping she is still open to other careers.
Gotta Know the Language
Tuesday, April 21st, 2009“How do you say ‘fast’ in your language?” — Kimberly “Oonsalawntee” — Annie “Oonsalawntee! Oonsalawntee!” — Kimberly Overheard from the other room as The Girls were cleaning up the playroom. We also learned that “ahnsalawntee” means “slow.” I, of course, am not sure of the proper spelling of either word.
Breakin’ up is hard to do
Tuesday, April 21st, 2009Today was the big day to send nuk nuks on their way. Mimi is four years old and in order to not interfere with her teeth growth we have to get rid of them. Kimberly had to do the same day on her birthday several years back. Here she is blissfully sleeping in on her [...]
Beautiful faces
Tuesday, April 21st, 2009Each year I take a close-up photo of the kids faces on their birthday’s. It is neat to look at how they change over time. Today I made a collage of all my Girls at four years old. Interesting to see mature and yet immature their faces look.
The envy of her sisters
Monday, April 20th, 2009Mimi woke up this morning to her gifts. She received some Littlest Pet Shop toys from Annie and Kimberly and an iPod shuffle from Mommy and Daddy. Her sisters are green with envy over Madeline’s iPod. They both say they will be asking for one for their birthday. It came with the standard ear buds [...]
Happy Birthday Mimi!
Sunday, April 19th, 2009I cannot believe that my Madeline is 4 years old. It seems crazy to me that she could be that old, but she is. I made a 5:27 minute long video of her life so far. The flash of the images is representative of how fast this time has blown by. *The youtube was giving [...]
4 more months
Friday, April 17th, 2009Today marks four months until all my girls are in school. No more Monday and Friday lazy mornings—Annie and Kimberly will have to be up and ready for school. I am glad that we had this year to get used to getting up and ready three days a week. I know they are ready, heck [...]
Our court date
Tuesday, April 14th, 2009We got notice from the courts today. Paul’s court date will be September 23rd, 2009. If you are thinking that is a long way off then you are thinking the same thing as us. I can’t believe that the courts are moving so slowly, to think that I thought that the two month wait for [...]
Easter Fun
Sunday, April 12th, 2009Easter is a major holiday around the Brown house. As far as mythical holiday characters go, the Easter Bunny is neck in neck with Santa Claus: He’s a bunny, and they’re a big attraction with the Brown children. He brings candy and lots of chocolate (without all that walking around that Halloween requires). He hides [...]
Color me happy!
Saturday, April 11th, 2009We dyed the Easter eggs tonight with the help of Grammy and Papa. The Girls always love this ritual and have been asking when it was time to dye them. Mimi was really into making her eggs all yellow this year. Kimberly was really enjoying the blues and purples. Annie was bored with it all. [...]
My growing boy
Friday, April 10th, 2009Paul had his check up this morning with the regular doctor. He is growing well and has gained a lot in height and head circumference. Woohoo! The bad news is that he is now healthy enough to begin his shots. My poor boy never had shots before. Imagine his disgust when he got 4 today. [...]
16 months old
Thursday, April 9th, 2009Mr. Paul is 16 months old today! He has been home for 4 months now and is really beginning to grow and mature quickly. He is understanding English now and when we tell him to do things he understands what we are talking about. Things he likes: *most all food *climbing the stairs *walking independently [...]
It’s on sale!
Thursday, April 9th, 2009“My mom bought us Bingaroo’s and they weren’t even on sale!” ~ Annie Annie told this to her teacher yesterday when she had sharing time. The item she is refering to is Bendaroo’s and I did buy them for them because I loved them as a child. They were not on sale and I thought [...]
Baking day
Tuesday, April 7th, 2009I have been trying to do more baking lately. I made a resolution for myself that I would learn more cooking basics and learn to cook more things. I also want to make time to learn to cook more. I am the kind of cook who can whip something up out of basics, but I [...]
