74 hours later

By sandi | May 25, 2009

It isn’t often that Bill has to work a ton of hours but once in a while a big deadline comes up and it is crunch time. This means that not only is it crunch time for him it is for us as well.

I take it in stride. While I enjoy having Bill around it isn’t that hard to take care of everyone on my own. Certainly not something I would like to do full time but I can handle it for a week or so.

The kids on the other hand had a much harder time. Everyone was much more moody than normal. The Girls were all weepy when they went to bed at night and they would talk about and pine over having Daddy back home. They each had different things that they missed about him and they would trade stories and rile each other up. All in all not a fun thing to have to deal with day in and day out.

Sadly, Mr. Paul was hit the hardest by all this. Paul has been living this life for a little less than six months. This isn’t the place he has lived the longest yet and honestly I don’t think he feels that secure. Sure he loves it here and the attention is wonderful, but the sad truth of it all is that in his short life things only last a little longer than this and then they change.

He didn’t let me out of his sight for a moment, he wouldn’t even go to Grammy. He was stuck to me like glue. He was confused by Bill’s absence, it was clear by his behavior. This little man can’t understand what is going on but we will be here for him forever. We will never let him down and we will love him all our days.

I noticed this at the train park the other day. He was loving on Bill an awful lot. We love spending time with your family and seeing all of the children grow and what kinds of things make each of them tick! It truly is amazing to see how well Paul is doing with only a few months with you. It is an inspiration and a truly beautiful things to watch!! :0) We love you all and as always God Bless you and your family!

OH bummer for Paul… I hope it gets better for him. I thought it was an eye opener when you wrote that this is not the longest he has been in one place.. even though to US it seems like they have been a part of us forever. I think Destiny is starting to get a bit better now… she still prefers her Mommy, BIG TIME, but… if the routine stays normal, she will go to Daddy and a few others. Whew… it will be one year in July.
