Birthday Costume Party
By sandi | October 25, 2009
For years Annie and Kimberly have been wanting a Halloween costume party theme for their birthday party. This year they got their wish. Invitations were sent out to their classmates, Daisy troop mates, family and friends of the family. When the RSVP’s started rolling in I began to question our choice. We had over 80 people RSVPed for this home party. Panic set in and I began baking and cooking in preparation.

It was finally the party day and everything was ready. The Brown family was dressed as bacon, eggs, Snow White, Tinkerbell, Thumbelina and an elephant. Families started arriving and they all looked great. (I am not posting pics of all the kids because I don’t know how all the parents would feel about that. Assume there were about 40 kids in super cute costumes. If you are a friend on flickr.com you can go there to view all the kids.)

Everyone was having a fun time. We decorated cookies, painted wooden pieces, got temporary tattoos, played pass the gourd, broke open a pinata, and found pieces to put a skeleton back together. The kids all seemed to have fun.

Annie and Kimberly had cupcakes for their party (I figured this would be easier to manage than cake and ice cream). They listened as their friends and family sang to them and then made their wishes.

They had a mountain of gifts and had a great time opening them up. They got so many wonderful things. This morning it was like Christmas morning opening them all up.

It was a lot of work and a very fun party. My little Girls got their wish to have their Halloween birthday party. I got my wish six years ago when they both became my daughters, it only seems fitting that I do all this for them.

Thanks! It was a great party. Again, I don’t know how you did it. I also cannot believe you made 80 + invitations. Those were also VERY nice. Hope you get a day of rest soon.
