A breakthrough

By sandi | November 2, 2009

You would think after having been a parent of a small child for over 6 years you would know when someone isn’t sleeping to check if they are teething. Well, we didn’t. We started thinking of all these other things none were what was really happening.

What was really happening was that two molars were ripping their way through Paul’s gums making him less apt to eat, more clingy than usual, and making him wake up and scream at night.

I think what confused us initially was the fact that he started his serious tantrums around the same time. That accompanied with the fact that we weren’t getting sleep and were not thinking straight caused us to overlook a very simple reason for all these issues.

The good news is those evil molars are half in so hopefully sometime soon we will get some relief.

Oh I feel so sorry for not thinking of this either. Ez had just gone through a teething episode and was night waking, you think I would have thought of it. Well I hope the molars stop bothering him and everyone gets more sleep. Teething tablets did help Ez sleep better and go back to sleep faster.

I keep on forgetting Paul doesn’t have ALL his teeth … he seems like such a big boy to me. But I’m so glad you have it figured out. KNOWING what’s happening is usually half the battle.
And Sam does great w/ the teething tablets too…Belladonna is your FRIEND!
