The Great Pumpkin Pie Baking
By sandi | November 25, 2009
Every night before Thanksgiving you can find me surrounded by the kids making pumpkin pie filling with my Mother close by making crusts. It is a long time tradition, in fact before there were kids/grandkids it was just her and I. It is such a wonderful time and I am glad we can share it.

This year we made some great pies. Each kid got to help stir in one item and Paul even got to help! I am pretty sure we even got all the ingredients in this year. (Some years we forget an spice or add extra thinking we missed something. It all works out in the wash and adds to the fun!)
Kimberly making a pie crust.

Annie pouring in the milk.

Mimi measuring the ginger.

Paul cracking his first egg and pouring it in.

Tomorrow we celebrate Thanksgiving. Life has so many things to be thankful for. Focusing on the positives in life takes skill and practice and isn’t always easy.
