Tie-dye Easter sugar cookies
By sandi | April 2, 2010
The other day the kids and I baked sugar cookies for Easter. Today we finally had posted on her facebook about cookies she had made using frosting to make a tie-dye effect. When we got to frosting these cookies I decided to give it a whirl. It was super easy, fun and looked awesome.
I made royal icing using powdered sugar, meringue powder, vanilla, butter flavoring and water. I took small amounts of it and dyed them red, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Then I put white icing down on the plate and put dabs of the different colors on it.

After that we got out toothpicks and swirled it around to make a beautiful swirl.

Then we gently dipped the cookie in and pulled it up to reveal the beauty!

Annie and Kimberly also decorated cookies painstakingly with toothpicks.

The cookies all came out perfect.
