“I belong with you, you belong with me, you’re my sweetheart” ~ lyrics by the Lumineers in their song Ho Hey
When I first heard this song all the how and heys made me not enjoy it very much. It just wasn’t my thing. Fast forward to me returning home from Alaska and the kids had spent time listening to Grammy’s iPod and this song was in their heads. Then something happened, a little voice came out singing the lyrics, “I belong with you, you belong with me”. He changed the last part of the lyrics to say, “in my sweet heart” and my heart swooned.
I once wrote an entry about Paul’s love for the song Stuck Like Glue. This song registered along the same lines. Paul making sense of his life, how he came to be here, almost 9,000 miles from where he was born.
Music plays such a wonderful role in our life. We relate to songs that mean something to us. I pray that Paul never worries if he was meant for us. He does belong with us, and we belong with him. Our love will never diminish.
