I was sick with preeclampsia and I went into the hospital. They sent me home that afternoon and told me to check with my doctor the following day.

The Birthday Girl

Saturday, September 25th, 2010

In honor of Sandi’s birthday, her mother Gwen offers this guest post. September 25th is one of those days I will never forget. Nine months earlier, you were given to me as a Christmas gift. Your father said I could open it in 9 months. And nine months to the day, you wanted out. I [...]

Holding on

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

“Love is stronger than death even though it can’t stop death from happening, but no matter how hard death tries it can’t separate people from love. It can’t take away our memories either. In the end, life is stronger than death.” ~Unknown “Life gives us brief moments with another…but sometimes in those brief moment we [...]

Discharge ?????

Saturday, April 23rd, 2005

We have not seen a Dr. yet today. We are hoping that they will come around soon so that we can get discharged sometime today. It would be nice to start settling into the routine at home and relieve Grammy and Grandma and Grandpa Brown from their duties of taking care of the Cruop Twins. [...]

Gallery’s Ready

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

Okay, I’ve got the pictures up and available on the web site. You’ll have to figure out where they are. Just kidding, they’re right here. I haven’t cleaned up the layout (and it’s not very girly at all), but at least they’re up. Enjoy! [UPDATE: Oh, and I'll be titling the pictures and putting descriptions [...]

Finally Decided

Thursday, April 21st, 2005

And the name is…….Madeline Christine Brown!

Recap

Thursday, April 21st, 2005

This is Bill. Sandi has my computer down at the hospital and I can’t remember my password to post under my own account. That’ll teach me to use unique, random passwords! [UPDATE: Edited authorship.] First things first, we aren’t sure if we’re going to name her Eliza. We’ve always said that we want to see [...]

Second Day

Thursday, April 21st, 2005

More breastfeeding. Sandi’s doing great and our daughter could’nt be any cuter. I’ll get some pictures up soon.

Feeding Time

Thursday, April 21st, 2005

Sandi’s breastfeeding the baby right now—she latched on right away!

She’s Here

Thursday, April 21st, 2005

She was born at 11:09 pm. She weighed 6 lbs. 10 oz. and was 19 and a half inches long. Sandi is doing well.

Gettin’ Ready

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

We’re about 15 minutes out now!

Awhile

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

There’s quite a crowd ahead of us so we’ll probably be going into the OR around 10 pm.

Triage Continued

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

Her liver and other organs are okay. I’ll post more soon.

Triage

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

Now we’re in our triage room. If memory serves, we’ll be here for awhile. Sandi will be having blood work done to make sure

Waiting To Wait

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

At the hospital right now…

Heading Out

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

We’re leaving shortly for the hospital. To use a bad joke, we’re going to make like a fetus and head out.

Do we deliver

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

We’re here at the doctor’s office and the doctor said that tonight’s the night!!!

The Beginning?

Sunday, April 10th, 2005

Lots of contractions, six or seven minutes apart. Are we starting??? [UPDATE: Called the good doctor and he said to try laying down for a bit and see if the contractions subside. We got the suitcase packed and ready, so Sandi's going to try to get some shut-eye. I doubt I'll be able to, though.]

Test for the big day

Friday, April 8th, 2005

This is just a quick test of my ability to post a message from my cell phone.

Preterm Labor

Sunday, April 3rd, 2005

Today I had to go to the hospital because I was having contractions every 10 minutes and they would not stop, even if I was lying down. The on-call Dr. suggested that we go to Good Sam because if the conditions were favorable she would most likely be born. I was quite freaked out at [...]
