Living the not-so-lived-in-life.

Tuesday, March 7th, 2006

It is getting so old. We reduced the house today in hopes that it will attract buyers. It is so hard to keep the house in show ready conditions with three toddlers running about. Annie and Kimberly can make the downstairs into a total disaster within 5 minutes if they try!!! [...]

Bill’s favorite song

Saturday, January 7th, 2006

The girls will be just sitting doing something and all of a sudden they break out singing. They generally sing Daddy’s favorite song. It goes something like this, “Daddy, Daddy, Mommy, Mommy, Daddy, Mommy, Annie, Kimmie, Mannie, Daddy.” It is a random jumble of the family names, with Daddy featured most [...]

Gift registry . . . really?

Friday, December 2nd, 2005

I read lots of blogs about people from all different walks of life, but one I read the other day made me think. It was about Christmas Gift Registry. This blog had a registry linked to their site so that, if you wanted, you could buy the child a gift! Golly, that is [...]

Garage Sale Steal!

Saturday, October 29th, 2005

Yesterday as I was driving home I saw sone yellow signs for a garage sale. I went ahead and drove by it. I saw a Little Tikes cube toy that I thought I would ask the price of. I was sure it would be more than I had with me. [...]

A Good Suck

Friday, October 14th, 2005

“Pacifier Use May Help Prevent SIDS”: I can totally believe this and I am very glad that all of our girls love a nighttime pacifier. (And you wondered how Maggie from The Simpsons was able to stay alive so long in that crazy household.)

Finger paint fun!

Tuesday, October 4th, 2005

You can have it too! Today I made finger paints for my girls. They loved it. Here is the recipe:
2 cups cold water
3 tsp sugar
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 tbsp light corn syrup
liquid food coloring
small bowls with lids
In a small pot, stir water, sugar, and cornstarch. Whisk over low heat for 5 minutes [...]

Dangerous Job!

Thursday, September 8th, 2005

Today I was just going about my normal day. I had made my children a hot breakfast of toaster waffles and banana. I was talking to my sister on the phone and resting on the sofa. Typical for me. Kimberly started saying “Momma, milk in Dora cup.” I got up [...]

Reflection on Weaning.

Thursday, September 8th, 2005

I have been weaning Maddie and I am nearing completion. As I look back on our breastfeeding experience I am humbled at being able to sustain my child’s life outside of the womb with only the milk from my body.
Am I sad about the end of this phase? Yes, of course I [...]

Who is in the lead?

Friday, September 2nd, 2005

I have been thinking about how often I make sure that my children are directing their own creative childhoods. How often do I allow them to lead in their lives? or do I bring them along while I am living my life?
Now in saying this, you must understand that I also do plenty of [...]

Schedule Derailed.

Friday, August 12th, 2005

Our schedule has taken a break for the day. Annie has a slight fever and runny nose and cough. She needs snuggles and relaxing tv time. We even watched Finding Nemo today. Of course we were still able to do most of the other things on our schedule [...]

Time for a change

Wednesday, August 10th, 2005

Since Madeline has come the girls and I have slacked off so much! They have been watching an alarming amount of tv and it has to stop. They are also fighting a lot.
I have decided that I am going to do more constructive things. I have developed a kind of lesson plan! Who doesn’t love [...]

Breastfeeding is such a pain in the . . .

Friday, August 5th, 2005

Nipple that is! Today I had to go to the doctor because of servere pain in my right nipple. It hurt whenever Maddie just barely touched it, it was horrible. The doctor said that I have a nipple fissure. I have to use Elidel 2 times daily and plenty of Lansinoh [...]

The kids aren’t the only ones spoiled!

Sunday, July 31st, 2005

At our house you can catch stuffed dogs, cats, bunnies, frogs, Elmos, Big Birds, and a myriad of other toys kicking back in the bouncy chair or swing. Maybe you think they are just kicking back enjoying the fabric, but no, they are either vibrating or swinging. They even are listening to tunes. [...]

Don’t tell me!!!!

Monday, July 11th, 2005

When you see me and my 3 daughters please do not tell me that I am headed for trouble once they are teenagers. This is very offensive to me on many levels.
First you are telling me, since I have never hear anyone tell this to a mother of 3 sons, that somehow [...]

Who are you?

Sunday, July 10th, 2005

I know that we have a lot of readers out there. Some we know and some we do not. I am pleased to share glimpses into my family’s life, but often I am curious about you. Who are you? Why do you come to my site?
I visit many other sites of [...]

They love books!

Tuesday, June 28th, 2005

A couple of days ago I started allowing The Girls to bring a book to bed. It is super cute to see them lying there looking at their books. I am glad that they love books so much. Yesterday I took them to

Eat Mor Chikin

Wednesday, June 15th, 2005

Last night, I brought some Chick Fil-A home for dinner. The Girls absolutely loved it—Madeline seemed to like her version of it, too—and ate almost an entire 12-piece by themselves. Even Kimberly, the particular eater, scarfed down her nuggets. Since this is one of my particular food loves, I was very happy to see much [...]

Yogurt in the hair

Thursday, June 9th, 2005

This morning I got The Girls yogurt and cereal bars for breakfast this morning. Now I am reminded why I only give The Girls yogurt for a dessert after dinner. They rubbed the yogurt in their hair and all over their bodies! I had no choice but to give them a bath. [...]

Easily the rudest person on Earth!

Wednesday, June 8th, 2005

Today I took my girls to the grocery store. Aunt Teresa and Damian came along to help out.
Annie and Damian love to get in each other’s faces, nicely, and they love to be rowdy together. They were up to their regular mischief, kicking each other, seeing who can make the other laugh and [...]

Playing with Madeline

Tuesday, June 7th, 2005

During Madeline’s awake time the girls enjoy talking to her and want to play with her. Last week we were playing in the playroom and I placed a link in front of Maddie’s hand and she grabbed it. She still has that reflex. The Girls thought this was super cool so they [...]
