Girl Scout Cookie madness

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

The Girl Scout cookies arrived on Sunday and as the troop leader it was my responsibility to get them picked up. I graciously passed this responsibility to Bill who was more than happy to help out. Once home they needed to be sorted into the individual Girl’s orders. My dining room table [...]

We’re sick

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

The kids and I have a nasty virus that consists of a cough, slight fever, sore throat, runny nose and grumpiness. We have spent days just laying around, drinking up fluids and trying not to be too crabby.

Of course Madeline always has to take illness to the next level, surprising me last [...]

She got her wish

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

“Thank you sickness!” ~ Kimberly
Today we took Kimberly to the allergist. She was getting upset before hand and was sitting in the backseat wishing she wouldn’t have to have the test today. She didn’t want to look bad for her Valentine’s Party tomorrow. I told her it would be on her back [...]

A Tiny Hole

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

Today while Kimberly was brushing her teeth her first tooth fell out. She was spitting out her toothpaste and out came the tooth. She was thrilled and excited. She can’t wait for the tooth fairy to come tonight and is already making plans for her money.

Stuffed it up

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

Today the Girls were invited to a Build-a-Bear party. They were giddy with anticipation. It was their first experience with stuffing their own bear.
When they arrived they picked out a bear and named it. They stuffed it, put a heart in, and picked out a dress for it. They [...]

Bingo Night at school

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

On Friday night we went to the Elementary schools Bingo night. The kids had such a fun time eating at the school with friends. They were excited to play bingo. They have heard me talk about it plenty and were very interested.

As you can see from the picture above Annie and [...]

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Tonight was the Girl Scout Father Daughter Dance. Annie and Kimberly were so excited for the dance. They have been talking about it all week.
I bought them new dresses for the event the other day. Kimberly approved of her dress by saying that it was good and twirly. [...]

100th Day

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

Today was the 100th day of Kindergarten for Annie and Kimberly. They had to make a shirt with 100 things on it. Kimberly’s shirt had 100 pieces of fabric fused to it. Annie had 50 pieces of fabric and 50 buttons hot glued on.
They were excited to celebrate the day [...]

Can’t you tell us apart

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

Today Bill and I were trying to pick through our memory to figure out which child something happened to. We had narrowed it down to either Annie or Kimberly. When they were such tiny babies we didn’t get a lot of sleep and neither of us have much of a memory of those [...]

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Last week Annie and Kimberly studied about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in school. They learned about the horrible facts of racism in America. When they came home they were horrified.
As soon as Kimberly started to tell me what she learned she got big tears in her eyes. She said, [...]

Calling in sick

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Today Annie and Kimberly were feeling a bit under the weather. Both had very low temps and runny noses. I figured it better to just give them a day of rest than to send them and have them get worse. So far that has worked.
They have rested on the couch and [...]

Winter Break

Monday, December 28th, 2009

At the beginning of Winter Break I posted on my facebook status that I was so excited to have the kids home everyday for 2 weeks. People thought I was joking but really I miss the kids when they are all at school.
The amount of time Annie and Kimberly spend at school [...]

Kindergarten party

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

On Friday I had the opportunity to go to Annie and Kimberly’s Christmas party at school. They had a lot of fun making Christmas trees and decorating them.

Making reindeer bags full of reindeer food.

And making Santa out of paper and cotton balls.

They were so surprised to see me there. [...]

Goodies with Grandparents

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Today Annie and Kimberly brought Grammy and Papa to school early to enjoy breakfast with them. They ate bagels, visited with friends and had a nice time. Kimberly and Annie had been anticipating this for a while. They loved every moment and I am sure Grammy and Papa did too.
*I [...]

The Great Pumpkin Pie Baking

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Every night before Thanksgiving you can find me surrounded by the kids making pumpkin pie filling with my Mother close by making crusts. It is a long time tradition, in fact before there were kids/grandkids it was just her and I. It is such a wonderful time and I am glad we can [...]

Lost in Translation

Friday, November 20th, 2009

“Kimberly is a little-miss-know-it- all.” ~ Mommy
“No I am not, sometimes I say yes!” ~ Kimmie
Well, I guess she told me!
Obviously the translation got lost and I she felt I was saying little did she know that her response proved my point.

Looking up

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

Yesterday was Kimmie and Annie’s 6 year well check. They are growing well and look good. Annie is 1/4 of an inch taller than Kimmie at 43 3/4 inch. Kimmie is 2 pounds heavier than Annie at 44 pounds. They are perfectly proportionate and hovering around the 25th percentiles.
The [...]

Trick or Treat

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

I had the pleasure tonight to trick or treat with the cutest kids I know.

The Cousins, Joseph, Wyatt and Damian, came over to join in the fun. Aunt Christina, Ian and Kyle came to trick or treat as well.
We all had fun walking around getting treats and seeing all the cute costumes. [...]

Pumpkin Carving 2009

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

Today the Girls carved their pumpkins as well.
Annie’s cat pumpkin design came out very cute.

Kimmie’s hungry pumpkin was a very good idea and funny!

Mimi had fun gutting and carving the pumpkin that was almost as big as her!

I am “that” parent

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

Tonight was Parent-Teacher conferences. I really didn’t want to be “that” parent, but I had to be. You know the type, “oh my child is so smart and you aren’t challenging them, and what are you going to do about it?” parent. Really I wasn’t “that” parent, I cannot imagine being that [...]
