We don’t know exactly how Zoey’s tail got broken or what happened—it happened before we took her in. The tissue in Zoey’s tail is dead and needs to be removed. She is scheduled for surgery Saturday morning and should be ready to come home later that day.

The girls are doing okay with this information. They were more worried earlier today when Zoey had to have blood drawn to check for feline leukemia. They have known something is not right with her tail. A cat tail should be soft and not like a stick.

We already have Daphne, a manx, so they know what a cat will look like with a little bit of tail. I am sure on Saturday they will be very worried about her but they know it needs to be done and that her tail is not healthy for her.

She likes to read books.

She also enjoys being cuddled closely.

And she loves to play with string.

He surprised us all and said “sure.” So my brother brought her by. She is such a cutie. The kids fell in love with her immediately. We have decided to call her Zoey. Although Annie wants to have her nickname be Oreo. That is right, she is black and white.

She is sweet and cute, but the poor little girl has a broken tail. It looks like it may have been closed in a door once. It feels like it is completely fused together and doesn’t seem to cause her any discomfort.

I didn’t get a chance to get a picture of her today because I have some sort of head cold and fever but I will try to tomorrow.
